Paris Is My Crown

I am happy in Atlanta but it I never thought Paris would be some kind of Disneyland for me. I will never be as happier as I am.

In my father’s world of writing cliché novels and killing the protagonist in the story, he became famous, and is now working in Hollywood for a movie as a book adaptation. I was happy in Atlanta but then my father just loves to steal it away from me and ruin my entire existence. For the sake of conformity, he let me move to Paris and study there for my high school years in an American boarding school. My name is Anna Oliphant.

Hours had passed by when I bid goodbyes to my parents especially my mom, it seems like she doesn't want to let me go – she was crying and I did too – but she had to. I was in hysterics on my first night in my school, I was sobbing on my pillow when someone knocked, I opened it and found a big girl – who lives next to my room – and heard every cry that I made. She invited me into her room and I knew that she belongs to the higher years and even have a group of friends – Josh, St. Clair and Rashmi – and oh, her name is Meredith, but she likes to be called Mer. Many weeks had passed and I am beginning to be a part of their group, we eat together, hang out on weekends and even have sole conversation with them. But I really got close with Etienne; he toured me around Paris, brought me to his favorite place in all of Paris and kissed me in Paris.

Etienne St. Clair, dark brown and messy hair, it’s an artist hair, beautiful hair – it’s the  first thing that I noticed about everyone – an English accent, no one can ever resist an English accent. He had a girlfriend (Well, I did have but together with my best friend, they betrayed me) but I know that they’re slowly drifting it’s just that Etienne just didn't want to let go because he also needs a family and Ellie was a family to him. He was once in great depression when he knew his mother was diagnosed with cancer, as much as he loves his mother so much, his father didn't allowed him to go home and visit his Mom.  All his problems were piled up, from his relationship to his controlling father, and I was always there to comfort him and he was ready to speak up to me whenever he wants to. And when he got all over it one by one, he began to slowly cheer up; he began to show the Etienne that I knew, the Etienne that I love, the Etienne that gave me a necklace with a pendant of a banana – he calls me “Anna Banana” – the Etienne that I am sharing my life with now.

And yes, we’re in a relationship now. We had a great fight to get this through. We had so much to remember and I am regretting the time that I said this – moving out of Atlanta – was a really  bad idea that I have to comply with. I am in a Diner now, working with Lola, who naturally is very beautiful inside and out. And I am the Anna that had her French kiss for the first time in the City of Love.

I Lewis, You Were Wright! (I Knew It, You Were Right!)

I am Lewis, Roger. This is how we met and other stories.

It was ten years ago that I have met a woman; she’s my kind of pretty. I was on our flight heading to my home and it was like fate did bring us together because I was moved to a seat from Row 17 (my lucky number) to Row 14B. All the time I was waiting for the plane to take off, I thought I have no one to sit with but then a beautiful girl, about my age, took a seat. She prepared her things to keep up with the long hours in flight, but something caught my eyes … we are reading the same book, and I promised myself, one of those, is to strike a conversation with someone when we’re reading the same book. How grateful I was on that day that I did, because if I didn’t, we wouldn’t be celebrating the tenth anniversary of our unbelievable meeting today.

We invited our closest friends, who never get tired of listening to the story of how we met and would always say that it was magical, to the celebration we prepared. Tyson brought his boyfriend, Geoff, who is a flight attendant. While I was washing the dishes, Geoff obliged himself to help me, he then told me about how comical of the story of how we met. And he told me about this famous legend as a matchmaker,Al Schwartz, he was in a check-in desk in an airport and that would randomly pick someone (Person A) and change his or her seat so that the other person (Person B) who he set up with Person A will be in the same Row. Then the later days, Geoff gave me the address of where Al Schwartz is living.

It really was a great deal to me; what he said could be Rory’s favorite gift. I am planning to go to Nevada to visit and thank Al Schwartz for completely giving Rory to me. I arrived at Al Schwartz house, he was all alone. And I saw many pictures in frame and hanged by the wall, I think it was his wife… and yes, he confirmed she is. I was telling our story and he was listening clearly to me.

And he said that he was just the one who matched us and that the after-alls are our choices. He explained that without our choices, we wouldn't be in each other’s arms, side by side. It is our choices that made the best out of us. It is our choices that brought us to the story of how we met. This is indeed our story.
